Sustainability

Learn about the sustainability efforts of Cardoner Hotel!

At our hotel, we work every day to create the perfect relaxing environment for our guests, while minimising our ecological footprint.

The magical natural environment of the Pilis makes us feel the importance of our green efforts even more, as here we are in direct contact with the wildlife that we have a shared responsibility to protect.

What do we do to protect the environment?

ENERGY

LED lighting
In our hotel we use ecofriendly LED lighting everywhere.
Did you know?! A LED bulb consumes up to 80-90% less energy than its conventional counterpart. This reduces energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

Reducing electricity use
To avoid unnecessary electricity consumption, power supply in the rooms is only available with a room card.

Heat pump cooling/heating
Our heat pump system enables the use of renewable energy, with high efficiency, consuming less energy for the same cooling/heating output.
Heat pumps harness heat from the environment (air, water or ground) and therefore require less electricity than conventional heating and cooling systems.
The system does not directly produce pollutants and does not deplete natural resources.

Solar panels
Our system of 35 solar panels also supports the sustainability efforts of our hotel. Solar energy is an inexhaustible, clean, renewable resource. Our solar system allows us to become not only consumers, but also producers, without dependence on fossil fuels, thus reducing environmental damage.

Water-saving taps
In order to protect water resources, we use water-saving taps in our hotel, which thanks to modern, innovative technology optimise the flow of water without affecting the showering experience and the comfort of our guests.

In-house laundry
Our own laundry allows a more flexible washing schedule, reducing water and energy consumption, increasing the lifespan of fabrics and thus producing less waste. We can also contribute to reducing emissions without transporting textiles.

Electric car chargers in the hotel area
To support the minimising of emissions, we have installed electric car and bike chargers in the hotel car park.

WASTE

  • Our LED bulbs have a long lifetime, so they produce less waste and do not contain hazardous substances such as mercury.
  • In our hotels and restaurants, we offer high quality filtered water (Accent Aqua) as an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic bottles.
  • Our shower gel holders are made of 100% biodegradable sugar cane.
  • We use hand towels and toilet paper made of recycled paper in our washrooms and guest bathrooms.

SUPPORTING SMALL AND LOCAL PRODUCERS

Enzo Bencini artisan coffee
The Enzo Bencini artisan coffee offered at our hotel is chemical-free and comes from small family farms where the coffee bushes grow longer, providing a richer flavour. The coffee is carefully selected, stored in jute bags, and prepared using a traditional artisan roasting process in a double-wall roaster, so it does not come into contact with open flames. Roasting is done fresh each month to ensure the coffee is as rich and flavoursome as possible.

Our goals
The future goals of the hotel include working more closely with local producers, which will provide an opportunity to support the economic development of the region and strengthen sustainability and local values.
By engaging with local producers, we want to ensure that our guests can enjoy the authentic flavours and artisanal products of the region, while contributing to the spread of environmentally friendly and ethical sourcing practices.
We aim for our hotel operations to foster community development, strengthen local production chains and contribute to a more sustainable future.

ACCENT HOTELS

Our hotel is a member of Accent Hotels chain, which became the most attractive employer in the HORECA sector in 2024, based on Randstad Employer Brand Research.
The Randstad Employer Brand Research is the most comprehensive survey of Hungarian labour market, which summarises the opinion of 7000 employees.
The survey examines employee perceptions of employers across 10 key dimensions, such as an attractive work environment, career development opportunities, competitive benefits and employee recognition.
At our hotel chain, our colleagues can develop their skills through a range of training courses.

Many young talents, middle managers and hotel managers have emerged from our hotels.
